About Us

The International Boxing Council (IBC) is a minor professional boxing sanctioning organization that was established in the 1990s in the United States. It sanctions boxing matches and awards world and regional titles across various weight divisions.

While the IBC has crowned some notable champions in the past, it is not one of the major four boxing bodies (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO). It is considered a secondary or fringe organization in terms of global prestige. Its titles are sometimes used as stepping stones for fighters aiming to move up in the rankings or gain exposure early in their careers.

The IBC has been involved in events mostly in North America but has also sanctioned fights internationally. It provides opportunities especially for up-and-coming fighters who may not yet qualify for major title fights.
