Nathan and Dawn Lott started their first gym in 2004 in a shed with three small children. God has blessed each day and are fortunate to have their family teaching and operating Zachary and Denham Springs locations. Excelsior Jiu -Jitsu was founded in 2017 and has grown with several affiliate gyms. In 2017 Excelsior officially joined the Trujitsu team headquartered in Bakersfield California. Trujitsu is led by Professor Matt Baker.
Jiu-Jitsu can be an intimidating sport. At Excelsior Jiu-Jitsu, you are joining a community that is devoted to the growth and well being of our members on and off the mats. You will get sore and have an occasional injury. That is part of it. However, Jiu-Jitsu is real. We will teach you and prepare you for any real life situation that may arise. It is our hope that you will never be forced to defend yourself outside of the gym, but if you do we want you to be ready.
