Sensei Henrique Machado is a distinguished martial artist from Brazil, holding black belts in Judo (6th degree), Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (6th degree), and Karate (red and white belt). He is the head instructor at Gracie Barra Guerreiros in Manaus, Brazil, where he leads a thriving academy dedicated to martial arts and youth development. His academy is renowned for producing top-tier athletes, including the legendary Ronaldo “Jacaré” Souza, who trained under Machado from a young age and later became a two-time World Open Weight Champion.
Machado’s journey in martial arts began at the age of three with Karate, followed by Judo under Master Georges Mehdi. He later trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Osvaldo Alves. To support his training, he lived in Master Mehdi’s gym in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, for a decade, working as a janitor to cover his expenses. This period was pivotal in shaping his dedication and discipline.
Through his academy, Machado has impacted the lives of over 500 students monthly, providing them with opportunities to excel in martial arts and life.
