Kaynan Duarte is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under André Galvão and a standout competitor for the Atos Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Born on January 24, 1998, in Pederneiras, São Paulo, Brazil, Duarte began his martial arts journey with judo before transitioning to BJJ under the guidance of José Luis (“Zé Cavalo”) and Paulo Ledesma. He moved to San Diego in 2016 to train at Atos HQ, where he quickly rose through the ranks, earning his black belt in 2018 after winning the IBJJF World Championship as a brown belt.
