Kennedy Maciel, also known as “Cobrinha Jr.,” is a distinguished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt and accomplished competitor. Born on January 2, 1997, in São Carlos, Brazil, he is the son of legendary BJJ practitioner Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles. Kennedy began his full-time BJJ training in 2012 after moving to Los Angeles to join his father. Under his father’s mentorship, he rapidly ascended the ranks, earning his black belt in June 2018. Throughout his career, Kennedy has secured numerous prestigious titles, including the IBJJF World No-Gi Championship (2018), IBJJF Pan No-Gi Championship (2020), and the IBJJF Pan Championship (2024).
