Koji Shibamoto is a distinguished Japanese Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt and former elite judoka, renowned for his achievements in the roosterweight division. Born on August 23, 1980, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, Shibamoto began his martial arts journey with judo, representing Japan internationally and competing for the esteemed Tokai University team. Transitioning to BJJ in his mid-20s under Mitsuyoshi Hayakawa, he rapidly ascended the ranks, earning his black belt and establishing himself as one of Japan’s premier grapplers .
