Laurence Cousin Fouillat is a pioneering French Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt and instructor, celebrated for her groundbreaking achievements in the sport. Born on August 7, 1981, in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France, she began her martial arts journey with aikido at age 8. In 1999, she joined Le Cercle Tissier, Europe’s oldest BJJ academy, becoming its first and only female member. Under the guidance of Flávio Behring, she earned her black belt in 2005, making her the first European woman to achieve this rank.
