Leandro Vieira is a distinguished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner, instructor, and co-founder of the renowned Checkmat team. Born on June 5, 1981, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he began training in BJJ at the age of 5 alongside his brothers, Leonardo and Ricardo Vieira. Leandro holds a 5th-degree black belt and has made significant contributions to the sport both as a competitor and as a coach.
In 2008, the Vieira brothers established Checkmat, which has since become one of the most successful BJJ teams globally, known for producing world-class athletes and champions. Leandro’s expertise and leadership have been instrumental in the team’s growth and international success.
