Lucas “Hulk” Barbosa is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and professional mixed martial artist renowned for his explosive takedowns and relentless pressure passing. Born on February 13, 1992, in Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil, he began his martial arts journey at age 10 with taekwondo, later adding judo and Muay Thai to his repertoire. At 15, he discovered Brazilian jiu-jitsu, training under coaches like Diego Lopes and André Fabiano. His competitive career gained momentum after moving to Rio de Janeiro to train under Márcio Rodrigues, where he earned the nickname “Hulk” for his physical prowess. Barbosa achieved significant success in the brown belt division, securing titles such as the IBJJF World Championship and the Abu Dhabi World Pro in 2015. Promoted to black belt the same year, he joined Atos Jiu-Jitsu in San Diego under André Galvão, further elevating his career.
