Luiz Panza is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt and accomplished competitor representing the Checkmat team. Born on February 2, 1990, in São Paulo, Brazil, Panza began his martial arts journey at age 7, training in Kung Fu before transitioning to Shotokan Karate, where he earned his black belt. His passion for combat sports led him to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and he rapidly progressed through the ranks, earning his black belt in 2012 under Marco Barbosa of Barbosa Jiu-Jitsu . Panza is renowned for his aggressive submission-oriented style, particularly his expertise in leg locks and the 50/50 guard position. He has secured notable victories over top competitors such as Bernardo Faria, Mahamed Aly, Yuri Simões, and Claudio Calasans .
