Marcel Fortuna, affectionately known as “Mãozinha” (Little Hand), is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt and professional mixed martial artist (MMA) with a distinguished career in both sports. Born on October 22, 1985, in Tubarão, Santa Catarina, Brazil, Fortuna began his martial arts journey at the age of 16, initially training in karate and capoeira before transitioning to BJJ under Glauco Machado. He later trained under Alexandre “Pop” de Souza, earning his black belt in 2007. Fortuna’s grappling accolades include an IBJJF World Championship title at brown belt, European Open Champion, Pan American Champion, and Brazilian National Champion.
