
Márcio “Macarrão” Stambowsky is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) coral belt (8th degree) and one of the original black belts under the legendary Rolls Gracie, making him part of the “Famous Five.” Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1959, he began training in 1975 and became known for revolutionizing techniques such as the triangle choke, closed guard, and leg locks. Stambowsky is also recognized as the highest-ranking Jewish BJJ practitioner. He is married to Carla Gracie, daughter of Robson Gracie, and is the father of Bellator MMA fighter Neiman Gracie and black belt Deborah Gracie Stambowsky. Currently, he leads Gracie Sports USA and Team Macarra BJJ in Norwalk, Connecticut, continuing to teach and promote the art of Jiu-Jitsu
