Matheus Lutes is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt under Marcelo Garcia and a prominent competitor representing the Alliance team. Born on January 27, 1996, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Lutes began his martial arts journey with judo at age 12 and transitioned to BJJ at 14 under coach Rodrigo Pena. He later trained under Murilo Santana and eventually moved to New York City to train at Marcelo Garcia’s academy, where he received his black belt in December 2019
