About Us
Moacir Mendes Jr is a distinguished Brazilian judoka and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Mário Reis. He began his judo journey at age 4 and became a member of Brazil’s national judo team at 17. Mendes is a four-time Brazilian judo champion and was honored as the “Best Newaza Athlete in Judo” in 2012. In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he secured titles such as the CBJJE World Championship (2010) and the South American Championship runner-up (2010). Mendes has coached elite athletes like Nicholas Meregali and João Paulo Neto. He has also served as the newaza coach for the Brazilian Olympic judo team. Mendes has contributed to the development of judo and jiu-jitsu through seminars and instructional content. He is affiliated with Alliance Jiu-Jitsu and operates a gym in Capão da Canoa, Brazil. Mendes continues to influence both sports through coaching and innovation.
