About Us
Sergio Moraes, affectionately known as “Serginho,” is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt and former UFC fighter, celebrated for his technical prowess and strategic approach to the sport. He holds four IBJJF World Championship titles (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011) and is renowned for his victory over Kron Gracie in the 2008 World Championships .
Born on July 23, 1982, in São Paulo, Brazil, Serginho began his martial arts journey in the challenging neighborhood of Cohab, earning the nickname “O Orgulho da Cohab” (The Pride of Cohab). He trained under Everdan Olegário and is affiliated with the prestigious Alliance Jiu-Jitsu team .
Beyond his competitive success, Serginho has transitioned into coaching, sharing his expertise with students worldwide. He is currently based in Curitiba, Brazil, where he teaches at Evolução Thai, a renowned martial arts academy .
