About Us
West Coast Jiu-Jitsu Academy is dedicated to developing the physical and mental skills of children and adults in a positive and inspirational environment. The Academy was founded in January 2019 by a Brazilian BJJ Black Belt Rafael Conti. He share a desire to spread this love of the art and strive to make a positive impact in the community.
Nowadays, while children face issues such as cyber bullying, availability of information, changes in socialization, and accountability, adults face many similar challenges. BJJ offers a blend of both mental and physical exertion that helps students of all ages develop unique skills that assist them in navigating the complex issues they face today. No other sport offers the same level of mental engagement during physical practice as BJJ. Logical thinking is an important aspect of development; however, BJJ is a guide toward logical conclusions and encourages problem-solving under controlled circumstances. Physically, BJJ encourages correct posture, lowers body fat, develops spine strength, mobility, and coordination. The complete package of skills learned on the mat is unparalleled to any other sport today.
